Colombo and Army battle for Commander’s Challenge Trophy
Colombo Basketball Club and Army will compete in today’s basketball final bringing the curtains down in what has been an eventful year for the sport.
The Army Commander’s Challenge Trophy Basketball Tournament has been organized for the first time under the guidance of the present Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP.
The tournament has been a golden opportunity to motivate basketball players to represent their clubs and will be an annual event in future.
The inaugural Army Commander Challenge trophy Inter Club Basketball Tournament has been conducted under the supervision and leadership of the Major General Shewanth Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP who is the present Chairman of the Army Basketball Committee.
The tournament saw the participation of nine teams, including Army, Navy and Air force basketball teams.The Commander of the Sri Lanka Army will be the chief guest at the final.
