Closing date for submitting applications for Grade One admission extended to August 07

The closing date for submitting applications for admission of children to Grade one, for the Year 2022, has been extended until August 07, Education Minister G.L. Peiris told the media yesterday.

Earlier, the deadline was July 31.

The decision to extend the deadline was taken considering the prevailing pandemic situation, travel restrictions and difficulties faced by the parents, Prof. Peiris said.  

The Minister said they had issued the grade one admission application on May 30 and the model application could be downloaded from the ‘www.moe.gov.lk’ .

Meanwhile, dates of the G. C. E. Advanced Level examination and the Grade 05 Scholarship examination have been pushed back.

Accordingly, the Grade 05 Scholarship exam will be held on November 14 and the GCE A/L exam will commence on November 15 and will continue until 10 December.
