The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) is organizing a training programme mainly for Listed Companies on Climate Disclosure in collaboration with UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative (SSE), Climate Disclosure Standard Board (CDSB) and International Finance Corporation (IFC). This will also focus on providing an overview of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations. Bringing this programme to Sri Lanka was facilitated by the Centre for a Smart Future, a Colombo-based think tank.

The objective is to facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue on TCFD disclosure and provide an understanding of the importance of climate-related disclosure. Participation is completely free of charge and delivered in English medium.

The training consists of 2 modules of 120 minutes and is CDP certified. The participants will receive a certificate upon completion, enabling individuals with professional body membership to use the training as part of continuing professional development requirements.

The first module provides an overview of what climate-related reporting is and why it is important. It will also provide participants with the global and regional context and focus on the initial steps on how to address the TCFD recommendations. The second module provides an in-depth programme during which participants will peer-review each other’s TCFD reports and wider good practice.

Participation of these modules requires a prior registration and the modules will be delivered online via Zoom. Module 01 and 02 will be delivered from 1400-1600 hours (SL Time) on 20th and 27th January 2022 respectively. The intended participants will receive the Zoom links upon registration.

Intended participants can reach CSE to receive the registration links by sending a request to chanuka@cse.lk. Subject line of such mails should be “TFCD2022”.
