CIPM Represented at CIPD UK Annual Conference

The Nation’s leader in human resource management CIPM Sri Lanka has further strengthened their bonds of partnership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) UK with the invitation to participate at the CIPD Annual Conference 2022 held on 9 – 10 November at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, UK.

CIPM President Ken Vijayakumar, Hony. Secretary Priyankara Senevirathne together with CIPM members Ms. Erin Jesudasan, and Eranga Abeywickrama represented CIPM at the conference which was themed “Supporting you today to create a bolder tomorrow for the people profession”. CIPD UK is the leading professional body for experts in people at work. With hubs in UK, Ireland, Middle East, and Asia, CIPD UK is the career partner of choice for over 150,000 members worldwide. CIPD recently accredited the CIPM Chartered Qualification in Human Resource Management (CQHRM) -CIPM Sri Lanka’s foremost professional qualification in people management

“We are delighted to have been invited by CIPD UK to participate in their annual conference and exhibition which further amplifies the close collaboration between our two professional bodies in our mutual efforts to uplift and add value to the noble profession of people management,” said Ken Vijayakumar.

“The important topics related to people management discussed and extensively deliberated at the conference will help us to add value to our membership, fraternity, as well as the business school. The continuous and regular collaboration between our two professional bodies augurs well for the development of the profession in Sri Lanka which will help to better prepare the people managers to meet international people management parameters in both the short and long term,” he added.

Since its inception in 1959, CIPM Sri Lanka has regularly and continuously introduced international best practices in the HR sphere, thus enabling and empowering a paradigm shift for HR practitioners in Sri Lanka. CIPM is currently in the process of organizing its annual National HR Conference in June 2023, a much looked forward to event in the HR calendar, expected to attract over 800 local and international delegates.

CIPM is affiliated with the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resources Management (APFHRM) and the World Federation of People Management Association (WFPMA). CIPM, being a professional institute, is also a constituent member of the Organization of Professional Associations [OPA] Sri Lanka. Currently, CIPM comprises over 1200 Professional Members who serve in both public and private organizations and approximately 8000 students who follow diverse programs on human resource management that are delivered online and through its study centres in Colombo and regional study centres throughout the country.

The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka) proudly facilitated the first-ever Sri Lankan delegation’s participation at Drupa 2024, the world’s largest trade fair for the printing industry and technology. Held after an eight-year hiatus, Drupa 2024 was a landmark event, marking significant advancements and opportunities in the global printing industry.

AHK Sri Lanka played a pivotal role in organising and supporting the delegation, which comprised 17 members from the Sri Lanka Association for Printers (SLAP), representing eight companies from the commercial, newspaper, stationery printing, and packaging industries.
