Christmas special with All-4-One
There’s something happening, almost on a daily basis, and those who fancy going out, to enjoy themselves, can now make their choice – live music, DJ music (with foreign DJs) and international acts, as well.
This is probably the first time, since the pandemic, that we can all look forward to Christmas, with excitement and enthusiasm.
Yes, we have got an internationally famous act coming our way for a Christmas special, on 23rd December, at the Lotus Tower open air arena.
Courtesy of Gold FM, music lovers would get the opportunity of seeing the band All-4-One in action, along with Derrick Junkeer, from Australia, and the Redeemers.
All-4-One may not be a known outfit to the younger generation but the older folks will most certainly remember them for their hit singles ‘I Swear,’ ‘So Much In Love,’ and ‘I Can Love You Like That.’
This American RnB/ pop group were, in fact, a big name in the ’90s era and sold over 69 million records worldwide since its formation.
The music group released their first single in January 1994, ‘So Much In Love.’ The song was so big that it led them to their record contract. On top of this, they reached Number Five on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles.
All-4-One won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for ‘I Swear,’ and also an American Award for Favourite New Soul/RnB Artiste.’
Even though the group is not as popular as they were in the’90s, they continue touring the world as before.
And, Sri Lankans would have the opportunity of seeing this Grammy Award winning outfit, live in action, come December 23rd.
The next assignment for this American R&B quartet will be at the Resorts World Genting, on December 25th, in Malaysia.
Derrick Junkeer, who is now based in Australia, will be entertaining his Sri Lankan fans after quite a while, although his songs are heard quite often on Gold FM.
On his return to Australia, Derrick will be at The Grand Reception on Cathies Lane, in Melbourne, to usher in 2024, along with two famous Melbourne cover bands playing hits from the ’60s to the ’90s, and tribute artistes for Elton John and Olivia Newton John.
Another attraction, at the Gold FM December 23rd concert, will, undoubtedly, be the group Redeemers, who are extremely popular with Sri Lankans abroad…and locally, too.
Over the past few months, they were seen in action at several musical events overseas, and were involved in a couple of gigs, Down Under, as well.
Their most recent performance was in Bahrain which was a mega success.
