Despite a superlative batting effort from Glenn Maxwell (76 off 36) and Faf du Plessis (62 off 33), Chennai Super Kings prevailed in a high-scoring six-fest at the Chinnaswamy stadium to hand Royal Challengers Bangalore their third defeat of the season. CSK were first carried to their third-highest IPL total through Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube’s exhilarating shot-making before the bowlers dragged the game to their corner in the dramatic death overs.
