Challenge of Sadness
By Lynn Ockersz
That the idyllic Isle’s denizens,
Should become the saddest,
And most crest-fallen,
Among South Asia’s eight nations,
Should come as no surprise,
To knowledgeable circles,
Given the parasitic ways,
Of those wielding heft,
Yet to be brought to heel,
However, getting into a big sulk,
Is clearly not the way forwards,
For those thus wilting in hardships…
Rather, they need to look inwards,
And find there the wisdom of the ages,
Which upholds the joy of cooperation,
Among people left to their devices,
Urges strong self-assertion,
And the need to negotiate bastions,
In the name of the dignity of the human.
