The CFS Prithipura Home will hold its Annual Fund Raising Sale on Tuesday, November 14, at the Lionel Wendt Memorial Art Centre from 10.30 am to 6.00 pm.

Prithipura Home is a residential facility for 60 mentally and physically differently abled residents whose ages range from young children to adults in their fifties and sixties. Many are orphaned, abandoned by their families or referred by the courts and social services department. They spend their entire lives at the Home, which offers a safe place for the well-being and rehabilitation of the residents, who need special care and attention.

Items on sale will include semi-precious jewellery, handicrafts and bags made by the residents, clothes, skin care items, gift wrapping paper and bags, food, vegetables, stationery and cane products. Christmas decorations and household goods including plastic ware will also be available for purchase.

There will be a silent auction with a paintings by Laki Senanayake and Ismeth Raheem, a cricket ball autographed by Murali, a photograph by Dominic Sansoni and a necklace from Adya Jewellery as well as bottles of wine and spirits. There will also be many exciting raffle prizes.

The monthly operating cost for the Prithipura Home is about 1.5 million rupees. While a small government stipend covers a minimal amount of the costs to run the Home, additional money for salaries, administration and maintenance have to be raised from donations and fundraising activities such as the sale.

Please come and support this special fundraiser event on behalf of the residents of Prithipura Home.
