CEB reforms bill presented to Cabinet today (30) – Kanchana

Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera posted on X (formerly twitter) that as the Attorney General had certified that the draft of the Electricity sector reforms bill was in accordance with the constitution,  he was able to present it to the Cabinet of Ministers today (30) for their observations  and approval.

The Minister stated that the bill was prepared over the last ten months with the assistance of energy and legal experts from development agencies and industry stakeholders and that the Bill received the certification from the Attorney General after the proposed amendments by the AG’s department was incorporated by the Legal Draftsman.
