CEB recovers Rs 75 mn from raids conducted against power pirates in 2022

The Special Investigation Unit of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has made a revenue of 75 million rupees last year from raids against those who use electricity illegally.

Ceylon Electricity Board Additional General Manager (Corporate Strategy) Eng. K A. K. Kolonne said 75,080,652.57 rupees has been earned.

The Special Investigation Unit of the Ceylon Electricity Board continues to carry out investigations to combat electricity fraud, he said.

“We ask our consumers to use electricity sparingly, which directly affects the country’s economy, and not to obtain electricity without the legal framework,” the Additional General Manager added.
