CDs to appease grandkids
My grandma, who is Singaporean, used to keep us happy with a beautiful song, called ‘Terang Bulan.’
Unfortunately, in the good old days, recordings were unheard of so she had no way of putting her voice on tape.
The scene now is totally different and grandparents do surprise their grandchildren…in many ways.
Singer Esric Jackson and his late wife Sandra, from Melbourne, Australia, spent many happy moments, hours, and days, with their grandkids, and grandpa Esric continues to do so.
He says they are the ultimate love of his life, and his biggest fans, as well.
Esric and Sandra, together with their band Replay 6, created the kind of music that everybody loved listening to and they were, in fact, the talk-of-the-town in Melbourne.
Esric continues to keep music lovers happy, especially in Melbourne.
Trevine Rodrigo, reporting from Melbourne, says with many CDs to their credit, Esric dedicated a couple of them to his grandkids – his daughter Candice and her hubby Toufic’s kids Mischa and Cruz.
The first, entitled ‘Kiss an Angel Good Morning,’ was for Mischa, followed by ‘Counry Cruzing’ for Cruz.
Obviously Candice’s third kid Makai, and younger daughter Tatum and husband Richard’s kids, Brooklyn and Zayn, popped the question: “Pappa, what about us?”
Says Trevine: “Caught in the unanticipated dilemma, and under the pump, Esric, who dotes on his grandkids, has decided to launch what he assures is his ‘final CD,’ entitled ‘second generation’ to appease his family, and to make it a level playing field.
“The popular musician, with a streak of a lovable larrikin, has been the nerve centre of most Sri Lankan musical events in Australia and his love and commitment to produce sell-out events has been well documented over a long period.
“With Sandra, they were unchallenged as a dynamic musical duo. But despite her untimely demise and the ensuing void, and his own personal health problems, he returned to pick up the gauntlet and pursue his life’s mission that was gifted to him – music, of course.”
According to Trevine, the CD ‘second generation’ has been put together not only to appease just his kids and grandchildren, but his wide following in the music industry, and fans.
“Within it is the best of Esric and Sandra combined with the superior expertise of Cameron Colombege, Rob Foenander and Chris Mant providing the ideal format of a production that any music enthusiast must add to their collection. Esric paid special tribute to Tony and Stan Azzopardi, Replay 6 and No Limit for their wonderful musical backing.”
All funds generated from the sale of this collector’s dream will go to a worthy charity, Esric says.
According to Trevine, a never recorded version of ‘Endless Love’ by Esric and Sandra has been inserted into this gem of a CD offering new material to music lovers.
Says Trevine: “Esric’s mission is made easy by the fact he would not have it any other way. Actually, the end song encapsulates his inner belief, ‘I did it my way.’”
