Cardinal: Sajith-Dullas coming together positive

Addressing a virtual conference, yesterday morning (22 July) organized by the Aragalaya, supporters living abroad, Archbishop of Colombo, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith expressed his satisfaction at the political consensus reached between Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa and presidential candidate SLPP MP Dullas Alahapperuma.

“This kind of coalition between opposing political parties is what we need today for the country to move forward. The politicians should consider the country before themselves and come together shedding their differences,” the Cardinal said.

The Cardinal also mentioned that there are a number of good leaders who have emerged from the Aragalaya who have the potential to become future leaders of the country.The oganising committee expressed its displeasure over the recent vandalizing of property at the Aragalaya premises by the authorities. “Some of these resources are what we donated. We will find money again for the Aragalaya to continue”, lamented the spokesperson for the organisers.(PC)
