Cardinal briefs Pope on SL’s failure to serve justice to Easter Sunday carnage victims

Colombo Archbishop His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith met His Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican yesterday (28).
Sri Lankans in Italy said that the meeting had taken place around 11 am at St Peter’s Square and the discussion between the Cardinal and the Pope had lasted around one hour.
The Cardinal briefed His Holiness on Sri Lanka’s failure to probe 2019 Easter Sunday Attacks properly, the struggle by the Catholic community in Sri Lanka, and the measures adopted to seek justice for the victims.
The Cardinal is expected to proceed to Geneva seeking to call for international assistance to ensure that justice is served to the Easter Sunday terror victims.
The 49th Session of the UNHRC has commenced and Sri Lankan expatriates are scheduled to conduct peaceful protests in Geneva seeking international assistance to bring justice to the Easter Sunday victims, Italy based Lankan organisations said.
