Nathan Caldera top scored with 113 runs as S. Thomas’ posted 285 for nine wickets declared against St. Joseph’s on day one of the traditional Under 19 cricket encounter between the two schools at SSC ground on Friday.

Caldera scored nine fours and three sixes in his knock which came in 212 balls.At Colts ground, Ananda defied Isipatana bowlers for more than 100 overs as skipper Nethma Samaraweera dropped anchor with a 288-ball 52 runs to end a four-match losing streak but that could not prevent Isipatana from winning first innings honours in the Under 19 Division I Tier B tournament match.Ananda came to the match after losing four matches on the trot. And they resisted more than 100 overs to end the losing streak.
