Cabinet nod for MOU between Sri Lanka Navy and National Nuclear Security Administration of the United States

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defense to sign the proposed Memorandum of Understanding between the National Nuclear Security Administration of the United States and the Sri Lanka Navy regarding the prevention of illegal transportation of nuclear and other radioactive materials.

The Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council, the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of National Planning have observed the draft MoU has also received the Attorney General’s clearance.
