CA judgment in case against State Minister Gamage postponed
The Court of Appeal yesterday (06) said that it would deliver, on 25 July, its judgment on a writ petition filed seeking an order declaring State Tourism Minister Diana Gamage is not qualified to be a Member of Parliament on the basis of her being a British citizen.
The judgment was to be delivered yesterday.
The Court of Appeal’s two-judge-bench, comprising its President Justice Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne and Justice M.A.R. Marikkar, put off the judgment.
Social activist Oshala Herath filed the petition seeking an order in the nature of a Writ of Quo Warranto, claiming that Diana Gamage was not qualified to be a Member of Parliament.
