Budget friendly food trucks from Ishara Lorry Body Builders
Ishara Lorry Body Builders at Pitakotte has introduced a low cost food truck body for those looking to start a food business or improve their existing business, Harshi Ishara Manamendra, Managing Director and Mechanical Engineer of Ishara Lorry Body Builders says.
“Even though this kind of food trucks are popular in other regions of the world, this kind of innovative food trucks have been introduced in Sri Lanka for the first time by Ishara Lorry Body Builders”, she says.
Elaborating on the company’s innovation meant for aspiring entrepreneurs she says: “Shifting our businesses to mobile sphere has become more important than ever. Therefore we have introduced a range of products to suit our customers’ budgets. We provide height extendable food trucks and size expandable food trucks using hydraulics and food trailers built to solid engineering standards. Apart from standard lorry bodies, we build half beds, flat beds and vehicle carriers”.
“Eating street food from a food truck is a different kind of an experience which includes seeing the food that is being prepared and indulging in the experience with all your senses while having the food. Therefore we have designed the kitchens with the customer experience in mind. Minimum of two persons can operate in these trucks which are fully fledged to include high pressure stoves, grills, prepping area, fresh water tanks, waste water tanks, kitchen canopies, generators, solar power, refrigerators, CCTV, necessary plumbing and wiring, etc. We can customize these designs within the space desired by the customer while ensuring high safety standards”.
“It’s a great victory for us to be able to introduce these food trucks in a timely manner because it’s the need of the hour. Sri Lanka can take pride in the fact that it is designed and fabricated in our country by our own technical staff,” she says.
