Buddhist monk stabbed to death

Pothuhera Police have commenced a probe into an incident where a Buddhist monk was stabbed to death on Saturday.Police said Ven. Baviligamuwe Sujatha Thera, who lived in Pothgul Temple in Lihinigiriya, Pothuhera, had been attacked with a knife.

According to the police the murder had been committed in a private house belonging to Sujatha Thera at Parabawila. Police said that the victim, 64, had entered monastic life last March after retiring from the Army.
