British School triumphs at Infinity 2024

The 10th edition of Infinity 2024, a premier mathematics championship hosted by Aditya Birla World Academy (ABWA) and BITS Pilani, concluded on a high note in Worli, Mumbai.
The event brought together brilliant young minds from Grades 9 to 12, representing around 10 countries, to showcase their mathematical prowess and creative thinking.
Initiated with an extensive round in October 2023, where 110 teams vied for victory from a pool of 540, the finals saw outstanding performances from the British School in Colombo (BSC).
Represented by Arun, Praveen, and Rehan in the senior category, the BSC team left an indelible mark on various competitions.In the Clash of Mathematicians individual round, Arun and Praveen secured the second runner-up position while the team clinched the second spot in the Bulb Your Ideas group round, standing tall among 54 senior category teams.
The BSC team’s excellence extended to challenges like the group challenge, Bulb Your Ideas team round, and Pass the Baton team round, earning them a place among the top 5 teams.
Notably, their exceptional performance in the Quizzitch competition, where they emerged victorious with 120 points, showcased a remarkable 55-point lead over the second-place team, leaving quiz master, Dr. James Tanton in awe of their speed and accuracy.
In the advanced category, two BSC teams, one comprising Ashwinaa, Ema, and Sarang, and the other with Yungu, Dhruv, and Krishna, demonstrated their mathematical prowess.Dhruv secured the second runner-up position in the individual round, and Ashwinaa received a merit award.
The team, composed of Ashwinaa, Ema, and Sarang, excelled in three group challenges, securing a position among the top five teams.Their outstanding performance granted them access to the Quizzitch round, where they claimed the second position.
