British School crowned U-14 netball champs

British School Under-14 Netball Team

The British School in Colombo (BSC) clinched the Inter-International Schools (TISSL) Under-14 Netball Championship when they defeated Lyceum, Wattala 9-7 in a thrilling final played at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.

A total of 14 international schools participated in this tournament, which was organised by the Asian International School (AIS). This has been a fantastic season for BSC netball having earlier emerged as Under-16 champions of the same tournament for the first time.

 Eliana Perera, who was the Netball Queen in the Under-16 tournament was in the limelight once again as she led the way with another outstanding performance and was selected as the Best Shooter.

This time the Netball Queen Award went to Yenara de Silva of the BSC while her teammate Emmara Fernando won the Best Defensive Player Award and Sehansa Wickremaratne of Lyceum, Wattala won the Best Centre Court Player Award.

Meanwhile, Lyceum, Panadura secured the third place of the tournament and the other teams to participate were AIS, Gateway, Kandy, Horizon College, Ilma Girls’ School, Colombo International School, Wycherley International School, Royal Institute, Gateway, Colombo, Lyceum, Nugegoda, OKI and Lyceum, Ratnapura.
