Bribery indictment served on Johnston

Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe on Tuesday (9) served indictment on Johnston Fernando and two others. They haver been indicted by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on Charges of Bribery (CIABOC).

The first accused Johnston Fernando is an SLPP Member of Parliament for the Kurunegala District and former Cabinet Minister in charge of the CWE.

The other two accused are former Chairman of the CWE Eraj Fernando and former Director of the CWE Mohammad Sakeem.

The Court imposed a travel ban on these persons effective until the final determination of the case.

Surety bail of one million rupees was granted.

The accused were ordered to report to the Investigation Unit of the Bribery Commission on the last Sunday of every month.

The CIABOC has filed five indictments against Johnston Fernando.
