Boost for beauty industry
The glam scene did take a back seat during the lockdown and curfew…although there were still many who wanted to look good – let’s say, all day long! And, why not! Beauty is always appreciated.
With the ‘new normal’ now being very much a part of our setup, the beauty industry is back on track.
There are beauty salons, here, there, and everywhere – the big names, the not so big names, and the little ones.
With so many beauty salons around, qualified staff is essential, so that one could always be a step ahead of the rest!
It’s with this in mind that Johann Peries, a big name in the beauty industry, highly qualified, and with a penchant for beauty, has decided to step in and lend a hand to those who are keen to excel in this field, and to make it their career.
He believes in maintaining high standards for hairdressing, in Sri Lanka, and his passion of hairstyling has driven him to start the Cutting Station Hair and Beauty Academy.
The six months course (five days per week), will commence in October (2020) and is open to all those who want to make hair and beauty their first choice.
Even those who are currently working, and are keen to enhance their career as beauticians, and be ‘in demand’ with clients, are welcome.
Johann believes that with proper training, and guidance, and with a solid base, from the inception of the training, Sri Lanka will produce better qualified hairdressers, and beauticians, in the future.
The five days per week training will take in three days, at the Academy, and two days, hands-on, at a salon.
The prime reason why the beauty salon, Cutting Station (at Water’s Edge, Battaramulla, and Kirula Road, Colombo 5) has become one of the most-sought-after Hair and Beauty salons, in Colombo, is because the man himself, Johann Peries, is at the helm.
Johann, who is also well known for his climb to the top of Mount Everest, has over 25 years of experience, working with various prestigious salons, as a hairstylist, and trainer, as well.
He has also had the honour of becoming the first Sri Lankan to be a qualified international judge, acclaimed by the OMC (Organisation Mondiale Coiffure).
Johann keeps up with the constantly shifting trends of today, in the beauty industry, and has worked with reputed establishments, including the REVER Academy, in Hong Kong, Toni and Guy, in Singapore, and London, Vidal Sassoon, and Wella.
