BOI gets new DG
Renuka Weerakoon has been appointed as the Director General of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed Renuka Weerakoon as the Director General of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka. The Letter of Appointment was handed over to the new Director General by Aviation and Investment Zone Development State Minister D.V. Chanaka at the State Ministry of Aviation and Investment Zone Development.
Weerakoon has been with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka for about 27 years.
She received her primary education at St. Joseph’s College, Cairo, Egypt, and at St. Bridget’s Convent, Colombo, and then got enrolled in the Colombo Law College. She joined the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka in 1994 as Assistant Manager Laws – Regional Development and has since served as Managing Director, and Executive Director in a number of categories. She is currently the Senior Executive Director of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, holds a Postgraduate Degree in Business Administration and a Postgraduate Degree in Project Management from the University of Jayewardenepura. She is also a Fellow member of the Sri Lanka Law Association, having studied Government Policy Analysis and Implementation at the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration.
Janaka Sri Chandragupta, Secretary to the State Ministry of Aviation and Investment Zone Development, Raja Edirisuriya, Chairman, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and other Heads of Departments were also present at the occasion.
