Bogala Graphite, Ambean Holdings make their presence felt at CSE

Share trading activities at The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) were positive yesterday while fluctuations in index heavy LOLC Development Finance (NIFL) had an impact on the All Share Price Index. However, 128 companies made gains and 78 companies’ share prices depreciated, stock market analysts said.

Notably, several not frequently notable companies including Bogala Graphite, Ambean Holdings and a few other other companies made their presence felt at the stock market yesterday, market analysts said.

NIFL share price fell by Rs 16.25 or three percent and its share price depreciated to Rs 520 from  Rs 536.20 during the day. This has negatively impacted the All Share Price Index.

Other two companies Bogala Graphite share price increased by 24 percent or Rs 15.40. It’s share price moved up to RS 78.90 from  Rs 63.50 and Ambeon price appreciated by 10 percent or Rs 2.70. Amid those developments both indices moved up. All Share Price Index up by 4.00 points and S and P SL20 up by 2.77 points.

Turnover stood at Rs 1.81 billion with three crossings. Those crossings were reported in JKH, which crossed 539,000 shares to the tune of Rs 73.6 million and its share price traded at Rs 136.50, Hayleys Leisure (Amaya) 3.2 million shares crossed for Rs 63 million and its share price traded at Rs 20 and Windforce two million shares crossed for Rs 38 million and its share price traded at Rs 19.

In the retail market top five companies that mainly contributed to the turnover were Expolanka Rs 326.6 million (5.06 million shares traded), Bogala Graphite Rs 106.5 million (1.43 million shares traded), Ambeon Holdings Rs 72.3 million (2.6 million shares traded), Hayleys Plc Rs 55 million (674,000 shares traded) and Eden Garden Rs 54.6 million (3.37 million shares traded). During the day 75.1 million share volume changed hands in 20,821 transactions.
