BMICH – South Asia’s Best Convention Centre 2020
BMICH – Sri Lanka’s iconic landmark has been crowned as the Gold Award winner in the Leading Convention Center category of the prestigious 2020 South Asia Travel Awards (SATA) competition bringing recognition to Sri Lanka as the premium convention destination in the South Asian region.
The SATA Awards Ceremony was held as an online virtual event on December 15. This is the 3rd time that BMICH has been presented with the Gold Award as the Leading Convention Center in South Asia at the SATA Awards and the 5th international award won by BMICH in as many years.
Previously BMICH was recognized for the International Quality Era Award in Geneva 2016 and Paris 2017.

SATA, endorsed by multinational associations, recognizes the tourism sector in the South Asian Region based on their facilities and service quality. The South Asian Travel Awards aims to encourage and raise service standards of the Travel & MICE industries in the region.
The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka) proudly facilitated the first-ever Sri Lankan delegation’s participation at Drupa 2024, the world’s largest trade fair for the printing industry and technology. Held after an eight-year hiatus, Drupa 2024 was a landmark event, marking significant advancements and opportunities in the global printing industry.
AHK Sri Lanka played a pivotal role in organising and supporting the delegation, which comprised 17 members from the Sri Lanka Association for Printers (SLAP), representing eight companies from the commercial, newspaper, stationery printing, and packaging industries.
