World-wide Covid-19 threat:

At a time Covid-19 is surging across the world claiming a heavy toll, the role of Ayurveda medicine in curbing the grave threat has become a key topic of discussion today.

Various age-old medicinal herbs that have been traditionally used in the past to boost the body’s immune system are now being widely relied upon not only in Sri Lanka but in many other countries as well for this purpose.

Following the recommended health guidelines and boosting our immune system are the best way to avoid contracting the virus.

In this context, black seed oil has emerged as a potent herb the world-over as it helps to keep coronavirus at bay by ramping up the human body’s immunity.

According to www.healthline.com, “in traditional medicine, black seed oil has been used to treat a variety of health conditions. As a result, it has sometimes been referred to as “panacea” — or universal healer.

“While not all of its proposed medicinal uses have been proven to be effective, black seed oil and its plant compounds have been linked to several benefits for health.

“Black seed oil is extracted from N. sativa seeds and has been used in traditional medicine for over 2,000 years due to its many therapeutic benefits”.

Black seed oil is used in Ayurveda and Unani medicine. Studies conducted by several recognized universities around the world have shown that Thymoquinone, the main pharmacologically active ingredient in black seed, supports to enhance the body’s immune system.

This substance increases the number of white blood cells in the blood and its vigor, and destroys toxins such as bacteria and viruses that enter the body. Even fennel oil has the potential to fight against viruses such as Covid-19.

To face this viral challenge, make it a habit to take one or half a teaspoon of black seed oil with a little bee’s honey daily after breakfast to claim the right to a disease-free healthy life.
