Big leap in tourist arrivals and earnings in first seven months of this year

Sri Lanka has earned 824.9 million US dollars from tourism in the first seven months of 2022.

In the corresponding period of 2021, the country only made 50.4 million US dollars from tourism.

In July 2022 alone, it earned 85.1 million US dollars from tourism.

In the first seven months of 2021, only 19,337 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka as against 458,670 tourists’ arrivals in the first seven months of this year.
