BIA’s VIPs

What category of people are considered as Very Important Persons at the Bandaranailke International Airport? On Sunday the 20th, an ex-MP/Minister was seen in the VIP lounge and a large crowd was in it to greet him. When he was coming out another large crowd accompanied him and among them was a high official of the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited. I assume, BIA is considered a a High Security Zone – how did this large crowd gather inside the building and behaved in a careless manner. Did the state provide this person special security and transport facilities too?
