Basil says 2021 will be a make or break year for country
For Sri Lanka to benefit from the budget proposals the Western Province should have zero new COVID-19 cases by January 2021, Basil Rajapaksa the head of Presidential Task Force in charge of Economic Revival and Poverty Eradication said yesterday addressing a meeting at Temple Trees.
The meeting was attended by state and political officers in the Western Province.
The Western Province was the hub of economic development and it should be operating at optimal strength for the country to progress, he said.
“I urge everyone here to work together to eradicate COVID-19. 2021 will be a make or break year for the country. The Western Province is the most important province in the country and if something happens here, it affects the entire economy. We need to ensure that no new COVID-19 cases are reported by January 2021.”
