Bangladesh PM a ‘mango’ friend of Lankan Premier

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent a beautiful gift of Bangladeshi mangoes as a goodwill gesture to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, according to a report in the Dhaka Tribune.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Tareq Md Ariful Islam handed over the mangoes.

Prime Minister Rajapaksa has expressed his wholehearted gratitude and thanks to the Bangladesh Prime Minister for the gift. He has hoped that it symbolises the fruitful relationship between the two countries.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had sent mangoes for her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. She has also sent mangoes for Indian President and a number of Chief Ministers in India.
