Baleen Whale beached in Jaffna Death could be due to ingesting plastic nurdles

The Baleen Whale found dead in Kayts Jaffna, may have ingested plastic nurdles from the MV X-Press Pearl, scientists claim.
They claimed that the whale had died about three to four days ago.”The cause of death could be connected to the pollution caused by the sinking ship, said Conservation Biologist, Dr. Ranil P. Nanayakkara.
Dr. Nanayakkara is a member of the IUCN/SSC Sirenia Specialist Group, and the co-founder and principal scientist at Biodiversity Education and Research (BEAR).
