Back to the ’70s…

One gets the impression that golden oldies are back in a big way!

I see quite a few advertisements, on social media, highlighting the golden past, where the music scene is concerned.

‘Golden Hits of ’70s is said to be a grand musical show, to be held at the Youth Centre, Maharagama, on 9th April, from 7.00 pm onwards.

In the spotlight will be the famous Annesley Malawana, as well as Indrani Perera, Anil Bharetti and Corrine Almeida.

They will be musically backed by Annesley and Super Chimes, with Kalum Srimal doing the needful, as compere.

They say, after the pandemic cropped up, this will be the first ’70s show to be held in Colombo.

According to the organisers, the audience will be taken, back to the ’70s, with the artistes featured doing the best of the ’70s’ hits.

It will be a nonstop session of ’70s’ songs, where the audience can sing-along, and enjoy themselves, with these great set of artistes, said Annesley.
