Aspirant hotelier at SLITHM eyes Commonwealth weightlifting award medal
Outstanding sportsman from the Hill City, Kanesha Alwis is a rugby star from Trinity College, Kandy who was a part of the Runner-Up team of the Singer Rugby League in 2017. Having secured a starting berth in the league, one of the most competitive schools’ rugby teams, Kanesha’s Herculean strength and smart wit went on to become a huge asset to his team.
With the ambition of achieving a Commonwealth medal, Kanesha is also currently engaged in studies at the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM), he also hopes to become a hotelier. After his first year at SLITHM in Kandy, he has moved to SLITHM Colombo, where he’s continuing his senior years at SLITHM in the stream of Professional Cookery , furthering his dreams by training under one of the weightlifting experts in Sri Lanka, Navindra Dayan.
