Arundika gets State Ministry back

Arundika Fernando, who recently resigned over his son’s involvement in a mob attack at the Ragama Medical Faculty over a dispute between its 4th and 5th year students, has been sworn in again as the State Minister of Coconut, Kithul and Palmyra Cultivation Promotion, Related Industrial Product Manufacturing & Export Diversification.

The re-appointment was made immediately after a ministerial committee, appointed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, cleared the lawmaker of involvement in the incident. Nuwara-Eliya District lawmaker C. B. Rathnayake received appointment as the Minister of Wildlife and Forest Conservation whereas Mahanuwara District MP Dilum Amunugama replaced Pavitra Wanniarachchi as the Minister of Transport and Wimalaweera Dissanayake was named the State Minister of Disaster Management On Thursday, President Rajapaksa accommodated S.B. Dissanayake in the cabinet again as the trade minister while Pavitra Wanniarachchi received Power, a portfolio held by Gamini Lokuge. Lokuge received the energy portfolio held by Udaya Gammanpila.
