Army to return 30 acres in KKS to civilians
By Dinasena Ratugamage
The Jaffna District Secretariat will release 30 acres of land, previously held by the Army in Kankesanturai, to 21 families.
The District Secretariat has requested those who can prove that they occupied the land prior to the Army takeover to visit the Valikamam North Grama Niladari Division and the land officer there for authentication purposes.
The Army took over the land 38-years ago to provide security to the Kankesanturai Cement Factory and to strengthen the Palaly high security zone.
