Army meets Tamil Union in limited overs final today

Sri Lanka Army will take on Tamil Union in the finals of the domestic 50 over tournament today at Sinhalese Sports Club grounds.

Both teams topped their respective groups during the league stage with Tamil Union winning ten matches and losing two while Army lost only one game and won the other 11. Tamil Union beat CCC, the runners-up of Group ‘B’ in the semi-final while Army had the better of Ace Capital.

A close contest is expected in the final with both teams comprising Sri Lanka stars. Tamil Union have in their ranks Diluwan Perera, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Jeffrey Vandersay and Dhananjaya de Silva.

Army are captained by Thisara Perera and comprise Dinesh Chandimal, Seekkuge Prasanna and Maheesh Theekshana.
