Army detects haul of Kerala cannabis hidden in forest

The Army detected 50 kilos of Kerala cannabis, worth over 15 million rupees, hidden in a forest, in Ilavalai, Jaffna on Friday.Acting on an intelligence received by the Army Intelligence Division, a group of its officers conducted a search operation in the Ilavalai area, and found a sack containing 24 parcels of Kerala Ganja hidden in the forest.

The Army suspects that the relevant stock of Kerala ganja may have been hidden by smugglers who had brought it from India by sea.The Army handed over the stock of Kerala Cannabis to the Jaffna Police for further investigation.
