Army Chief hints at travel restrictions during New Year season to prevent spike in COVID

Travel restrictions might be imposed, if necessary, during the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva told the media yesterday.

General Silva recalled that during the Christmas season people had not adhered to health guidelines and COVID-19 infections increased.

Gen. Silva urged the people not to let their guard down during the festive season.
