Architect–2022 Exhibition to showcase ‘the latest in building tech’

The Architect 2022 Exhibition will be held from 24th – 27th February at BMICH Colombo, featuring the latest trends of the building trade, Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA), announced in Colombo recently.

This year’s exhibition will be held under the theme “Architecture for wellbeing”, with a view to increasing public awareness on how the Corona virus has reshaped architecture in creating healthy living environments, SLIA said.

“This will be a valuable experience for the general public with many opportunities available to interact with architects and other professionals. The ceremonial opening of the Exhibition will be held on February 24 at 3:30 pm,” they said.

SLIA’s National Conference will be held on 23rd of February 2022 from 11.30 am to 6.00 pm. The Keynote speech will be made by Architect Channa Daswatte and several other eminent speakers will join the event online and one-on-one. This event will be streamed via Facebook and Youtube.

“The general public and other stakeholders involved in the field of construction can view a host of architects’ work and they can explore trade exhibition stalls without any hassle. There will be 134 trade stalls showcasing products and increasing product awareness of visitors this year”, they said.

“An Architects’ Discussion Forum will provide educative sessions encompassing various aspects of the profession of architecture during the exhibition. Students from the City School of Colombo, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and Sir John Kotalawala Defence University (KDU) will showcase their work in stalls allocated to them. We invite all those who are interested in the field of architecture and those who are involved in building homes, offices, apartments, factories and various other facilities, to visit the exhibition, gain insights from our members’ work and check out the range of products on display,” SLIA said.
