Arava wins two coveted Gold awards at ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’
Arava Private Limited, a leading exporter of coconut based products, was honored with two Gold Awards at the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ Awards organized by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industries in Sri Lanka (FCCISL).
The Gold Award for Large Category, National Level and Gold Award for Large Category, North Western Provincial Level, were bestowed on Asiri Gurusinghe, Chairman and Founder, Arava (Pvt) Ltd.
The flagship event of FCCISL, which has helped many of Sri Lankan entrepreneurs reach global standards in terms of productivity and value creation, was recently held at the BMICH with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa as the chief guest.
With a humble start in 2013, Arava (Pvt) Ltd, has come a long way to become a leading exporter, in addition to establishing two subsidiary companies related to export services.
Today, the company owns three fully fitted-out manufacturing locations in Sri Lanka with a workforce strength exceeding 350.
As an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, Arava (Pvt) Ltd., is focused on manufacturing and exporting high quality unique products from Sri Lanka.
Presently, the company manufactures a 10 – 12 product range made out of coconut based products coir fiber bales, cocopeat, grow bags, cut coco fibre and husk chips among others, which are exported to over 46 countries around the world covering seven continents.

“All our products are certified by the Sri Lankan government approved authorities and required international standardizing agencies to ensure quality. I would like to thank my staff and the customers who have trusted our products”, he said.
Gurusinghe has been recognized with many accolades previously including FCCISL awards. The company’s head office is located at Rosmead Place, Colombo 7.
