‘Aragalaya XCore’ launched to prepare young members to contest future polls

Anti-government protesters yesterday formed a discussion group to prepare young members of their Aragalaya to contest future elections.

A new movement “Aragalaya XCore” was launched yesterday with the objective of preparing potential youth leaders in the country, to seek public office.

Convener of Aragalaya XCore, Nipun Tharaka Pranavitana, addressing a press conference at the Public Library auditorium, said that the new organisation was still not a political party but a movement. “We hope to have our representatives’ ready for the local government election.

“We don’t want more political parties with more corruption, under one umbrella. That is ot what we want,” Paranavitana said, adding that their action plan would be launched soon.
