Apology and correction

We tender our deepest apologies to the honourable Supreme Court and the judges mentioned therein regarding the publication of a wrong report in The Sunday Island cover dated Feb. 12 on proceedings relating to the scheduled local government elections.

The two cases on that matter were heard by the same bench, and the second was put off for consideration on Feb. 23 by that bench and not another as wrongly reported. The necessary corrections have been made on the online editions of the newspaper.

We hereby tender our apologies to the honourable court and the judges wrongly mentioned in the report.
