HNB Clay Court Championship 2022

Apna Perera ousted top seed Vichinthaya Nilaweera as the semi-finalists of the Under 18 boys’ singles were found in the HNB Clay Court Championship 2022 at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts on Tuesday.

The Ananda College player beat last year’s Clay Court Nationals Under 18 finalist 6-3, 6-0 in the quarter-finals. He will now meet fellow Anandian Hesara Kuruppu, who beat Talal Sabry 6-0, 6-4.

In the other two quarter-finals Royal College player Thilina Dissanayake and number two seed Zaidh Zihar (S. Thomas’) were the winners ensuring a Royal-Thomian in the semis.

Meanwhile, in the Under 18 girls’ singles Ruvi Lewkebandara, Nishka Vivekanandan, Vishmi Serasinghe and Arushi Thomas advanced to the semi-finals.

The Clay Court Championships will conclude on March 27.
