Another 200,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine purchased by SPC arrive

Another batch of 200,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine purchased by the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC), arrived in the country early yesterday morning.
This is the fourth batch of Pfizer vaccine doses purchased by Sri Lanka.
The first consignment of 26,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived here on July 05, the second batch of 26,000 doses on July 12, and the third shipment of 70,200 doses arrived on July 19.
The consignment that arrived yesterday was also transported to the Central Warehousing Complex in Colombo by trucks of the SPC with special refrigeration facilities.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Embassy has said 1.6 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine donated by China are scheduled to arrive at the BIA today (27) morning, via two chartered SriLankan flights.
