Another 1.5 mn doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrive in Sri Lanka

Another consignment of 1.5 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine purchased by the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) arrived in the country early yesterday.

The consignment weighing 5,055 kilos was first airlifted from Amsterdam in the Netherlands to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

The vaccine stock was then flown from Dubai to the Bandaranaike International Airport in an Emirates EK-648 cargo plane. which arrived around 1.00 am yesterday.

The vaccine consignment,was placed in the refrigerator at the Katunayake Airport Cargo Village and thereafter taken to the Central Warehousing Complex in Colombo by refrigerated trucks of the SPC.
