Ananda College OBU Class of 2003 donates ventilator to Ragama Hospital

Membes of Class of 2003, Ananda College Old Boys’ Association at an event to hand over the equipment to the Ragama hospital

 

Class of 2003 of Ananda College Old Boys’ Association recently donated a ventilator and other necessary equipment to the COVID-19 treatment centre at the Colombo North Teaching Hospital, Ragama. 

Director of Colombo North Teaching Hospital – Ragama Dr. S. P. A. Liyanage Ranaweera, Vice President of Ananda College Old Boys Association Yasas Randunu, and Members of the Ananda College Class of 2003 were present at the handing over ceremony, which was held on the 27th of June 2021 at the Colombo North Teaching Hospital

“As a responsible group we are committed to provide support to our community as and when called upon. When the Colombo North Teaching Hospital – Ragama had a requirement of a ventilator to effectively treat COVID-19 patients, we gladly stepped in to support them. On behalf of Ananda College Old Boys Association, I take this opportunity to thank Dr. S.P.A. Liyanage and his staff at Colombo North Teaching Hospital and extend our appreciation to all the healthcare workers who risk their lives daily to ensure the safety of all Sri Lankans during this pandemic. Furthermore I take this opportunity to thank all who donated money to this worthy cause.” said President of Ananda College – Class of 2003 Ravinesh Senaratne

 Addressing the gathering Yasas Randunu Ariyarathne, Vice President of Ananda College Old Boys Association mentioned that “Ananda College Old Boys Association has been able to mark another important milestone in the mission of supporting the heroes who are currently spearheading the battle against COVID-19 in Sri Lanka”
