Ana Wijeratne appointed as SLR’s Indian rep

Ana Wjeratne was appointed as Sri Lanka Rugby’s (SLR) rugby representative in India and his appointment was ratified at the last SLR Council meeting held recently.

Wijeratne, who had served the SLR in many capacities in the past, is expected to utilize his role to strengthen ties between SLR and Indian Rugby.

Wijeratne, An old boy of Trinity College Kandy, is a World Rugby Match Commissioner and World Rugby Coach. He has had the experience of serving as the Head Coach of New Delhi. Wijeratne has a tremendous amount of international experience having served as the Match Commissioner, Match Manager, and Pitch Marshal at some of the biggest rugby tournaments held in Asia.
