Ambulances exempted from expressway tolls until further notice

Chief Government Whip and Highways Minister Johnston Fernando yesterday ordered that ambulances using the expressways be exempted from tolls.

The Minister instructed Secretary to the Ministry of Highways R. W. R. Pemasiri to ensure toll-free passage for all ambulances from yesterday until further notice.

Minister Fernando said that the decision had been made taking into consideration the prevailing situation in the country.
