Ambassador Chung discusses reviving Lanka’s tourism sector with Harin

A meeting has taken place between the U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung, and the Minister of Tourism, Harin Fernando.The U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka has mentioned on Twitter that the discussion was held regarding the reviving of the tourism sector in the country.

She has mentioned on her Twitter account that they discussed the immediate and long-term plans to revive Sri Lanka’s tourism sector and that she is interested in sharing Sri Lanka’s natural beauty and fascinating culture with more Americans.Also, the ambassador has further said she believes that a safe and sustainable return to tourism is a key factor in reviving Sri Lanka’s economy.

“Good discussion with Harin Fernando about immediate & long-term plans to revive Sri Lanka’s tourism sector. I am eager to share Sri Lanka’s natural beauty & fascinating culture with more Americans, and believe that a safe, sustainable return to tourism is key to SL’s economic recovery,” Ambassador Chung said.
