Alston Koch, of ‘Disco Lady’ fame, is still Down Under, with his family, and he has been holed up, in Melbourne, since the coronavirus pandemic engulfed the whole world.

Yes, Alston did migrate to Australia and spent many decades in that part of the world. And it was in Australia that he experienced international fame, as a singer.

However, not too long ago, he and his family decided to check out the USA, mainly because of his son’s career as an actor. They then made California their home.

The family decided to take a short break, and relax in Melbourne, but their vacation hasn’t turned out to be the kind of holiday they were looking forward to.

“The scene is pretty tough here,” said Alston, when he called us from Melbourne.

“There is the night curfew, from 8.00 pm to 5.00 am, plus plenty of restrictions.”

He said he spends his time doing absolutely nothing, other that watching TV, and that, too, not all the time.

The singer indicated that he is worried about his home, in the States, as it has been closed up for several months.

“The ‘new normal’ is something that we have all got to adept ourselves to, and, as entertainers, it won’t be easy.”

Alston went on to say that there have been occasions where the thought of selling off everything and making Sri Lanka his home again, comes to mind!
